Week 4 of the Alliance Professional Baseball League (APBL) delivered its most dramatic finish yet, with the Texas Rangers pulling off a razor-thin 271-270 victory over the Toronto Blue Jays. It was the closest game of the season so far, decided by a single, heart-stopping point. Every lineup decision mattered, every stat was magnified — and in the end, Texas walked away with a crucial win that could have major playoff implications down the road.
While Texas-Toronto stole the spotlight, the Cincinnati Reds were busy sending a different kind of message. The APBL Series runner-up flexed their muscles with a 317-230 demolition of the Boston Red Sox, posting the biggest blowout of the week. Cincinnati reminded everyone why they’re still the team to beat, combining explosive scoring with depth across the board.
Other Week 4 action included:
- Atlanta Braves taking care of business with a 235-154 win over the San Francisco Giants, handing San Francisco their second loss of the young season.
- Baltimore Orioles controlling the pace in a 263-204 victory against the Detroit Tigers, staying quietly in the hunt near the top of the standings.
- Chicago Cubs winning a high-powered shootout 298-268 against the New York Yankees, as both teams' offenses put on a show.
- Los Angeles Angels sneaking past the Cleveland Guardians 184-163 in a lower-scoring, grind-it-out affair.
- St. Louis Cardinals showing their strength with a 243-173 victory over the Chicago White Sox, keeping themselves firmly in playoff conversation.
