Week 6 was a non-divisional week in the AHSDL, and the Jamesville-Dewitt Red Rams are still the lone unbeaten team at 6-0. They slipped one spot in the Power Rankings anyway, as Cresskill moved back to No. 1. The Redmen also posted the second-lowest score of the season. Here is how Week 6 played out, how the Power Rankings shifted, and what to watch in Week 7.
Week 6 Recap: West Conference
The West produced the highest score of the week. The Silver Creek Dragons posted 169.18 points in a 169.18–140.78 win over the Xenia Buccaneers, a margin of 28.40 points. The Dragons improved to 3-3. Xenia's 140.78 was the heartbreaker of the week: they would have beaten 18 of the other 23 teams in the league, but ran into the top score of the week and fell to 3-3.
The week's biggest blowout was a meeting of the two Highlander teams. The MacArthur Highlanders defeated the Floyd Central Highlanders, 161.88–88.88, a margin of 73.00 points. MacArthur improved to 4-2, and Floyd Central fell to 3-3.
In a game to watch from last week's preview, the Grovetown Patriots defeated the North Union Wildcats, 120.00–116.32, a margin of 3.68 points. It was a fourth straight win for the Patriots, who are now 4-2, and a second straight loss for North Union, who also fell to 4-2.
The other game to watch was the Fostoria Redmen against the Moreno Valley Vikings. The Vikings defeated the Redmen, 126.50–68.88, to move to 5-1. Fostoria's 68.88 was the second-lowest score of the season, behind the 67.74 Floyd Central posted in Week 2, and the Redmen fell to 3-3.
The closest game of the week, and the ugly win, were one and the same. The Jasper Place Rebels defeated the Napoleon Wildcats, 110.10–107.80, a margin of 2.30 points. Jasper Place's 110.10 was the lowest winning score of the week, and the Rebels moved to 3-3. Napoleon fell to 2-4.
The Mount Pleasant Oilers picked up their first win of the season, defeating the Ennis Lions, 134.64–84.82. Mount Pleasant had entered the week as the only winless team in the league and is now 1-5, which means no team in the AHSDL is winless. Ennis also fell to 1-5.
Week 6 Recap: East Conference
The East's story was the Red Rams, who defeated the Ernestown Eagles, 142.52–86.72, a margin of 55.80 points. Jamesville-Dewitt moved to 6-0 and is the lone unbeaten team in the league. The Eagles, who had won three straight, fell to 3-3.
The Cresskill Cougars bounced back from their first loss with a 159.84–128.28 win over the Brownsville Falcons, a margin of 31.56 points. The Cougars are 5-1, and the Falcons fell to 2-4.
The Crisfield Crabbers defeated the D'arcy McGee Gee Gees, 140.58–107.38, to improve to 4-2 with a third straight win. The Gee Gees fell to 1-5. The Massillon Tigers defeated the Rome Black Knights, 145.68–132.76, and the Shadyside Casket Makers defeated the Peoples Academy Wolves, 140.24–89.00. Both the Tigers and the Casket Makers are 3-3, while Rome fell to 2-4 and Peoples Academy fell to 1-5.
The Salamanca Warriors defeated the Whittier Wildcats, 130.18–91.44, and both teams are now 3-3.
